STUK café
The STUK House For Dance Image and Sound, in Leuven has a very active and dynamic cafe, that functions as a bar, restaurant, meeting place, workspace or even a club. A research by design, together with Gijs Van Vaerenbergh, concerning the STUK cafe and entrance organization, led towards the installation of a temporary bar. As a spatial and practical test, awaiting a more complete renovation of the cafe and entrance zone of STUK.
The design of a new temporary bar, was implemented as a subtle intervention, focussing mostly on practical issues. A rotation of the bar, in between the existing columns, opened up a space for the kitchen and acts as an interesting intervention in the space of the café.
